1. Overview

EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker is a loan planning and tracking tool designed with privacy as a core principle. The app is fully local and offline — no account is required, no registration is needed, and your data never leaves your device. We do not operate any backend servers that receive or store your information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is stored locally on your device, what is collected by third-party services, and your rights as a user.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Enter (Stored Locally on Your Device Only)

When you use EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker, you may enter or configure the following:

Calculator & Settings

Loan parameters – loan amount, interest rate, and loan tenure (used for EMI calculations)
Monthly income – used solely to calculate your FOIR (Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio) eligibility on the Summary screen
Saved scenarios – up to 5 loan configurations you choose to bookmark
Preferences – currency selection and app theme (Light / Dark / System)

Loan Tracker

Loan details – loan name, lender name, loan amount, interest rate, tenure, loan start date, and EMI due day for each loan you choose to track
Prepayment history – amounts and dates of extra payments you log against a tracked loan
Notification preference – whether you have enabled monthly EMI reminders for a loan (the reminder is scheduled locally on your device)

All of this information is stored exclusively on your device using your phone’s local storage (AsyncStorage). It is never transmitted to our servers, never uploaded to the cloud, and never shared with any third party by us.

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app, or by clearing app data from your phone’s Settings → Apps → EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker → Clear Data.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically by Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob (a service operated by Google LLC). To serve and measure ads, Google may automatically collect:

Advertising identifier (GAID / IDFA) – a resettable device identifier used for ad personalisation
IP address – used to determine approximate geographic location
Device information – device model, OS version, screen size, language
Ad interaction data – whether an ad was viewed or tapped
App usage signals – general signals used for ad targeting and fraud prevention

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by GrizPlay Apps. We do not receive, store, or have access to this data.

3. How We Use Information

AdMob ad data (Google)	Serve relevant ads, measure performance, prevent fraud

We do not use your loan inputs, financial data, or tracker information for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than displaying calculations and tracking results back to you inside the app.

4. Data Storage and Security

All preferences, inputs, and loan tracking data are stored locally on your device using React Native AsyncStorage.

Storage keys used by this app include:

We do not have access to your device storage and cannot read, modify, or delete your data remotely.
If you uninstall EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker, all locally stored data is permanently deleted by your operating system.
No passwords, payment credentials, or sensitive personal information are ever collected or stored.
Loan data stored in @emi_tracked_loans_v1 (loan name, lender, amount, rate, prepayments) exists only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

5. Third-Party Services

EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker integrates with the following third-party service:

Google AdMob

Provider: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
Purpose: Display banner advertisements within the app to fund free access
Data collected: As described in Section 2.2
Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Opt-out: You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in your phone’s settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID

We have configured AdMob with requestNonPersonalizedAdsOnly as the default request option, meaning the app requests non-personalised ads by default to minimise data collection.

6. Local Notifications

If you enable monthly EMI reminders in the Loan Tracker, the app schedules a local notification on your device using your phone’s built-in notification system. This notification:

Is generated and displayed entirely on your device
Does not involve any server, network request, or third-party messaging service (no Firebase, no FCM, no push notification provider)
Contains only the loan name and EMI amount you have already entered in the app
Can be disabled at any time from your device’s notification settings or from within the app

No notification-related data is transmitted to GrizPlay Apps or any third party.

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third party, except as described in Section 5 (Google AdMob, which operates independently under its own privacy policy).

We do not share data with:

Data brokers
Analytics providers (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Segment, no Crashlytics)
Social networks
Government agencies (unless required by law)

8. Permissions Used

EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker requests the following Android permissions:

`VIBRATE`	Used for haptic feedback when interacting with sliders, buttons, and the date picker
`READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` (max SDK 32)	Required on older Android versions to save shared images temporarily
`WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` (max SDK 32)	Required on older Android versions to save shared images temporarily

No sensitive permissions (contacts, camera, microphone, location) are requested or used.

Note on notification permission: If you enable EMI reminders in the Loan Tracker on Android 13+, the app will request the POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission. This permission is used only to schedule local EMI reminders. Denying it will simply mean no reminders are sent — all other app features work normally without it.

9. Children’s Privacy

EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). The app is a financial planning tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, please contact us at grizplayapp@gmail.com.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

Access – you can view all your inputs, preferences, and loan tracker data directly inside the app at any time
Correction – you can edit any loan parameter, setting, or logged prepayment from within the app
Deletion – you can delete individual tracked loans from the Loan Tracker, or delete all locally stored data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
Portability – your data resides on your device; you have full control over it
Opt-out of ad personalisation – see Section 5 above

Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf beyond what you can already do inside the app.

The only data processor involved is Google (AdMob). Our legal basis for processing under GDPR is legitimate interest (serving ads to fund a free app). You may withdraw consent to personalised ads at any time via your device settings as described in Section 5.

CCPA (California Users)

We do not sell personal information. The AdMob integration may constitute a “share” of data under CCPA. You may opt out of personalised ads as described in Section 5.

11. Data Retention

Your app data (loan inputs, tracker data, preferences): Retained on your device until you delete individual items inside the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app. We have no copy.
AdMob data: Retained and managed by Google under their own data retention policies. See https://policies.google.com/privacy for details.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of EMI Calculator & Loan Tracker after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
